The board, management, life members, players and past players of Hawthorn Football Club are deeply saddened by the passing of

Maurie Young.


Maurie played 71 games for Hawthorn between 1956 and 1960, being a key factor in the club's first finals series in 1957.


He leaves behind his wife Glennis, son Mark and daughter

Anne (deceased).
