Remembering Quincy Jones: the legendary music icon, producer, and philanthropist whose profound influence spanned over seven decades and inspired generations.
YU. — Reverend Joseph PE
Ordained on 7 December 1954 in the chapel of Propaganda College, Rome. Upon his arrival in Australia in 1955, Fr Joseph devoted himself to his work as Chaplain to the Catholic Chinese Community and as Assitant Priest in East Kew (1958), Ascot Vale (1963) and North Brunswick (1968). He was appointed Parish Priest of the newly formed parish of North Reservoir in 1970 - a position he served for more than 32 years. Upon Fr Joseph’s retirement in 2002, he was appointed Pastor Emeritus. In his retirement, Fr Joseph continued to minister to the residents at Villa Maria Aged Care Residence in Bundoora until his move, due to ill health, to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Northcote. He passed away on 19 October aged 93 years.
Fr Joseph served the Church in a very positive and pastorally enriching manner. The Archdiocese is most grateful for his untiring service to the Church of Melbourne.
May he rest in peace.
