Passed away peacefully at Heaps North, Riverlea Nursing Home, Bundaberg on March 13, 2019 in her 91st year. Wife of the late Horace William Scotney, Mother and Mother-in-law of Colin & Kay Scotney, Faye & Barry Biggs, Leanne & Paul Jacobsen and Cathy Mills – Grandmother of twelve, Great Grandmother of twenty-four, and Great Great Grandmother of four.Betty was born the second child and daughter of Stan & Myrtle Barlow (both deceased) at Bundaberg on September 5, 1928. She was the sister and sister-in-law of Claire & Jim Webb (both deceased), Ron & the late Jean Barlow (deceased) and Margaret (Peg) Woodgate (deceased), also Cynthia & Bill Spear (both deceased), Joy & Ray Stewart (both deceased), Errol & the late Judith Scotney (deceased) and aunt to their respective families.Betty was the companion and friend of the late Jack Roberts and a friend to many who frequented the Senior Citizen Dances and the various Bundaberg Clubs around Bundaberg providing dance music to patrons.

The Funeral of Betty Mae Scotney, who passed away peacefully at Heaps North, Riverlea Nursing Home, Bundaberg on March 13, 2019 in her 91st year, will take place at F.C.Brown & Co. funeral facilities, Cnr McLean & Woongarra Streets, Central Bundaberg on Friday March 22, 2019 at 11am followed by internment in the Bundaberg Lawn Cemetery. The Family extend an invitation to relatives and friends of their late Mother to join them for a Celebration of Betty’s Life. In lieu of floral tributes, Donations to Alzheimer's Australia or the Cancer Council Australia would be appreciated.
