Much loved husband of Noreen, son of Wilfred and Joyce (both dec), brother of Bernard and Mavis, son in law of Bepe (dec) and Rene, father of Chris, Andrew, Paul and Peter, grandfather of Luca, Charlie, Kai, Max, Xavier, Riku, Kyle, Cameron and Finn and father in law to Jenny, Ryan, Robert and Bronte.
From the grips of war in a working class mining village in northern England, all the way to the other side of the world in Melbourne - the best city in the world.
The best example of a man. Skilled, down to earth and good natured. A life of work devoted to building a cohesive and prosperous family. He achieved this, and more, with a quiet authority, common sense, unwavering commitment and a wicked sense of humour.
Passed away peacefully after a long and brave battle with Parkinsons.
Adored by his family and friends to the very end.
