EDWARDS, Milton CharlesLoved Husband of Elizabeth Joan Edwards. Passed away peacefully at John Flynn Hospital, Sunday, 6th November, 2016, surrounded by Family.Born Warburton, Victoria, 23 January, 1923.Milton married Elizabeth Walton on 28th November, 1944, with Family of 11 Children, 40 Grandchildren and 61 Great-grandchildren.After early education, Warburton Adventist School, Milton was employed at Signs Publishing House producing Christian literature until in his late teens, when he decided to ride his motor bike north taking a rest stop at Burringbar, south of Murwillumbah, where he fell in love with the land and became a banana farmer.After completing correspondence matriculation and attending Teachers College in Brisbane in 1957, Milton became a Teacher at Coolangatta Public School for 25 years, until retiring in 1982. Mr Eddie was popular with the young surfing students, taking them surfing after school.Milton and Elizabeth established their Family home at Leyte Avenue, Palm Beach, 1958, where he remained living until his passing.Post retirement Milton provided voluntary work in his Children's and Grandchildren's Family businesses on the Gold Coast, including Tiki Tim Batteries, Miami, Tweed Batteries, South Tweed Heads, and Currumbin Valley Welding now Central Engineering.Milton was committed to his SDA Church at Kingscliff and to his community service, even working after hours service pre-retirement. After finally ceasing all work around 2005, Milton entered into an active retirement and community services work, as a regular with his Wife Elizabeth in Homeless breakfast support in Coolangatta on weekends. He was also a morning regular with the Motley Crew active swimming group at Pirate Park Currumbin.A public Memorial Service Celebrating the Life of Milton Edwards, will be held at Kingscliff Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 85 Phillip Street, Chinderah, on Friday, 11th November, 2016, commencing 10.00 a.m., (Qld Time) 11.00 a.,m (NSW time).
