Died peacefully after succumbing to a glioblastoma.
Loving husband of Jill, married 48 years.
Much loved father of Katie, Sophie and Alice and father-in-law of Sam, Scott and Jem. Loving Baba of Sybilla, Paddy, Celia, Harriet, Ben, Leyla, Phoebe, Elanor and Jimmy. Treasured brother of Bob, David and Michael.
Beloved son of Pat (dec'd) and Mollie (dec'd).
Good friend to many.
Bill was a mighty traveller, brilliant engineer, reader of many stories, avid golfer and bridge player, joyful listener of beautiful music, prolific Herald letter-writer and an ever-gentle and even-tempered man.
A mass of celebration and thanksgiving for Bill’s wonderful life will be held at St Mary’s Church, Ridge St, North Sydney on Thursday 6 October 2022 at 1.30pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation might be made to the Mark Hughes Foundation.
