HON. BEN HUMPHREYS AM

Former Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Federal Member for Griffith from 1977 to 1996. Life Member of the Australian Labor Party and much loved member of the Bulimba Hawthorne branch, Ben joined the Labor Party in 1960.

Ben represented his community proudly in Parliament for almost two decades, renowned for his genuine interest, involvement and accessibility to his community on Brisbane’s south side.

Ben remains an exemplar of Labor values, committing his life to the pursuit of social justice and improving the lives of others. He leaves behind a legacy that will no doubt continue to set a high bar for those who aspire to public life in Queensland.

ALP members are invited to join Ben’s family on Friday 22 November at 10am at St Johns Anglican Cathedral, Ann Street, Brisbane City, to celebrate his life.
