It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Opa, Father, Husband, Partner, Mentor and Friend Michael Hendrik Lodewyk on September 16th, 2024, Brisbane, Queensland.

Michael was a renowned surveyor, avid reader, wine connoisseur, deep thinker, and expert debater. He loved nothing more than to make other people happy. Whether that was finding grandkids an ice cream at 6 am on a Wednesday morning, opening his Northern Queensland home to overseas family and friends, finding work opportunities for budding surveyors, stocking the "pirates' chest" with little treats, buying scratch-its for the women in his life, doing university level calculus on the fly with his sons, he wanted nothing more than to take care of the people he cared about the most. Michael was Father and Father-in-law to John and Stella, Nicholas and Louella, Mark and Jean; Opa to Hudson, Alexandra, Beauden, Oliver, and Maeve; Brother to Roger; beloved companion of Lynne; and predeceased by his Wife Kate, Father Cornelius and Mother Judith.

All Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend MICHAEL'S FUNERAL SERVICE which will commence at 10.00 a.m. SATURDAY MORNING 12th OCTOBER, 2024 at the Lakes Chapel, Morleys Funeral Home, Cnr. Hugh Street and Martinez Avenue, Townsville.
