With great sadness, we announce that on ANZAC Day 2022, Ian James Sidney, Chartered Accountant of Thornlands Queensland, departed this world into the care of God's hands.
Ian was a Son, little Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, sportsman, entrepreneur, Chartered Accountant, a friend of God and Man.
He was born in Epping and grew up in Eastwood, Sydney. After completing his Chartered article clerkship in Sydney, he embarked on his accounting adventures via Tamworth (the early 1960's), to Lae in Papua New Guinea (1966 to 1972), to Cairns (1972 to 1976) and then to Brisbane and Redlands to the end.
He ran his Chartered Accountancy practice from July 1970 to June 2016.
He was a Rotarian, Long Term Member of Tattersalls, semi-professional golfer and cricketer, Treasurer of Pacific Golf Club responsible for helping get a QLD Open PGA tournament, Bronco's season ticket holder since their beginning and so much more.
His family, Father Max (dec), Mother Zeta Lucy (dec), his big sister Val (dec), his big brother Peter (dec) and those still with us - his sister Flo, his wife Deborah. Dianne, his children Laurence and Leanne, Richard and Kerri, Elizabeth and Andrew, Roz and Clay and his precious grandchildren William,Josiah, Roydon, Caleb, Sh'khinah, Zara, Rebekah, Savannah, James and Patrick have loved him always and will miss him greatly.
His Service will be on Friday at 11am on 6th May 2022 at St Bernard's Catholic Church, Klumpp Road, Upper Mt Gravatt. We will be continuing to Pimpama Island Cemetery and then adjourning back to the Pacific Golf Club Carindale for his celebration.
All who come to celebrate will be welcome!
