A State Funeral for The Hon. Timothy Sean MULHERIN, of West Mackay.
Dearly beloved husband of Erin. Much loved father of Declan and Kirsty, Liam, and Rory. Loved son of Leo (dec’d) and Helen. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Martin and Helen, Patrick, Catherine and Trevor, Gratten and Kerrie, Brendan and Kim, and Gerard and Au, and loved uncle, cousin, and nephew to all the extended Mulherin family. Good friend to many.
Mr Mulherin held the seat of Mackay from 1995 to 2015 as well as three ministerial portfolios over seven years. His contributions to primary industries and the agriculture sector include driving biosecurity reforms and the introduction into Queensland of the Biosecurity Bill 2011. His work in support of rebuilding communities post-Cyclone Yasi and post-Cyclone Hamish helped shape the state’s development.
Outside of his political career, he served as the Chair of the Mackay Hospital and Health Board and Deputy Chair of the Harrup Park Country Club Board of Directors.
Relatives and friends are respectfully advised that Tim’s Requiem Mass will commence at 10:00am, Tuesday, 15th September 2020 at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, River Street, Mackay. A private Cortege will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Queensland Cancer Council at www.cancerqld.org.au – please reference in honour of Tim Mulherin.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance at the church will be by invitation only. The service will be livestreamed on youtube.com/meccsales.
