
Simon Townsend: Pioneer of Australian Children's Television
A tribute to Simon Townsend, creator of Wonder World, celebrating his contributions to Australian children’s television and his lasting legacy.
Late of Gatton, formerly of Allora, passed peacefully on 9th May 2020, aged 92 years. Much loved Wife of Geoffrey (dec’d); dearly loved by Geoff’s Children Peter and wife Pam, their children Hugh, Marion, David and their families; and Judy and husband Carmen. Dearly loved Sister and sister -in-law of Hettie and Cyril (both dec’d). Loving Aunt of Alexa and partner Stephen, and Great-Aunt to Lincoln and Sebastian; Aunt of Margaret. Cherished friend of Joan and Helen, among many others especially in the Bridge Clubs, Dog Clubs and Indoor Bowls Clubs of which she was a dedicated and active member. Sadly missed by her dear dog Juno. Celebrating Anne’s Life with a Private Service at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Allora followed by interment beside her dear Geoffrey at the Allora Cemetery, on Monday 18th May 2020. There will be a Memorial Service in Gatton for Anne at a later date to be determined when Corvid19 restrictions allow.
