Quincy Jones
Remembering Quincy Jones: the legendary music icon, producer, and philanthropist whose profound influence spanned over seven decades and inspired generations.
The youngest son of Molly Smith and Alexander Whiteley, Ian grew up with brothers Keith and Graham.
Ian was a motorcycle enthusiast who had a great sense of humor and ability to spark up a chat with anyone. He was man who loved family and was loyal to his mates. Although he had many work titles over his life, most notably was his work in the mines and as a meat carter.
At 17, he faked his age to join the army and served as one the youngest soldiers in the Vietnam War.
Married to Elaine Savage, they shared stepchildren Micheal, Steven and Alex. Together they had Alana, Cindy and Cheryl. He also had a daughter Hayle to Maureen Gardiner. In total he was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
