The Fensom family warmly invites family and friends to join us for a celebration of Llynlly Dawn Fensom on the afternoon of Saturday, April 24 in Alstonville, NSW.
Llynlly was a much loved mother of Anthony and Christopher, husband of John, and a highly regarded former primary school teacher.
Born on 21 July 1944 in Grafton, NSW, Llynlly was the second youngest of four daughters of Charles and Bernice Jones, with her sisters comprising Sandra, Janet and Marlene. She grew up in Woolgoolga and Sydney, attending Hornsby Girls High and winning a scholarship to study education at Balmain Teachers College.
Her first appointment was to a school at Mullaley (near Gunnedah), after which she taught at Cammeray Public School in Sydney. In 1976, she moved to Lismore, teaching at Boorabee Park before moving to Goonellabah, where she taught for many years. Throughout her teaching, she was universally loved by her students.
After her successful career in teaching, including as an Indonesian language teacher, she lived an active retirement in Lindendale filled with love and happiness, enjoying being with her grandchildren and many friends.
In 2015, she was diagnosed with cancer. Llynlly fought a long and brave battle against the disease, but ultimately succumbed just a few months short of her 77th birthday.
She will be remembered for giving far more than she ever received; someone who loved all, trusted many and did wrong to none.
As described by a family friend, Llynlly "made lots of little things wonderful."
