Arthur Neil McGill
5 December 1944 – 9 January 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Arthur Neil McGill, aged 80, after a prolonged illness. A proud Wallaby and Drummoyne Dirty Red, Arthur’s rugby career was remarkable.
Earning 21 Wallaby caps (1968–1973) and playing over 180 first-grade games for the Dirty Reds, Arthur was known for his ambidextrous kicking, strong defence, and leadership. He later gave back to the game as a coach, mentor, and selector, earning Life Membership at the Drummoyne Rugby Club in 2015.
Beyond rugby, Arthur was a devoted husband to Annie, loving father to Christian (with Lauren), Britt (with Shannon), and Alexander, and proud grandfather to Hamish and Penny. His quick wit, stoic nature, and dapper style left a lasting impression.
A service to celebrate Arthur’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 1 PM at the Greg Davis Stand, Drummoyne Oval.
