A Tribute to John Lindsay Fielder
Born 18 November 1931, Died 7 May 2023.
On 7 May 2023, John Lindsay Fielder died at Mareeba Queensland. He was 91 years old.
John is survived by his children, Christine Boulter, Helen Fielder, Paul Fielder, Margaret Smith, David Fielder, Benjamin Fielder, and Johnathon Fielder, and his many grandchildren.
John was born on 18 November 1931 in Adelaide, South Australia. Following completion of high school, he later went on to attend the Naturopathic College in South Australia (1958-1963) where he graduated with degrees in osteopathy, naturopathy, and chiropractic studies.
In 1967 John moved his family from Adelaide to Cairns where he set up a successful practice as an Osteopath and Lifestyle Consultant, providing an "alternative to medicine - not alternative medicine", advising on most medical conditions, for more than 50 years.
That was only a portion of John's life. He wrote several books, some of which are published on Amazon and held in the National Library. He was president of the International Nature Cure Society, the International Natural Hygiene Society, and the Incorporated Society of Registered Naturopaths in the UK for several years.
He also had three other passions, one was to travel, another to host twice-weekly community radio programs and his third love was listening to music. He travelled the world, usually for two to three months every year, giving lectures on his favourite health topics, making many friends and visiting many countries including far-flung places such as Cuba.
On those travels, he collected many CDs and DVDs of all types of music. His very catholic taste in music was played to the delight of his radio audiences over the years.
