In Loving Memory of My Murray.
Sadly, shortly after 9:30pm on the 13th night of December 2024, My Murray passed away.
Murray's passing was both sudden and a shock to those who loved him, yet comfort is found knowing, Murray passed in peace and surrounded by love.
This tribute is written with love, in memory of the life Murray lived.
Murray was born and raised in Yagoona NSW. Being the middle child of 7, three brothers, three sisters, a working father and a devoted Mother, that he admired and adored with all his heart. Those were the day children ate vegemite sandwiches as a school staple. Before mobile phones, the internet and luxuries. Before much of what we have today.
Murray began his life in the work force at 15 years of age. Working in shunting yards for many a year. His first day at Erskineville Station was a doozy that Murray laughed at each time it sprung to mind.
In the 1990's Murray would meet the mother of his two sons Matt Man and Peter. Spending most weekends taking the boys too different parks, sights and places including trains while they were young Children. Visiting luna Park at Christmas time.
In Murray's later years he cherished the time he had with Matt and Pete whilst they were children. And Murrays only regret in life was not being there for his boys, fully present, as they developed into the remarkable young men, they both are today.
In the 2000's Murray relocated to Bundaberg Queensland and would go on to work in the traffic control industry until just a year before passing.
Murray was known by many and loved by few. Murray was a unique man who came from a different time. Murray loved music from the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's and was what he called set in his ways. A lover of green tea, with garlic, honey and lemon.
In life Murray, like all of us, made mistakes and poor choices at times. And in his final years of life Murray strove to make good in this world and to atone for his mistakes.
In 2016 Murray from a distance seen a young woman without a hope in the world who was with child.
Murray went on to stand by this young woman Martina. Influencing her, teaching her, guiding her and loving her, in his own very special way. Holding her hand as she brought life into this world that Murray would go onto name Patience because Martina needed patience in her life.
Murray believed that there were 144 thousand angels that would one day rebuild this earth. My Murray, he was my angel, my daughter and I's saving grace. Murray firmly believed the most valuable thing you can give someone is your presence. And I am so thankful to have had Murray's presence in my life.
Murray is the first of his seven siblings to pass and will be dearly missed. Bringing the family all closer. Murray will be waiting with arms wide open to greet us all in time. Until then less we forget the heart and soul of Murray McLennan. Striving to live by the words of Desiderata.
Murray McLennan 08.07.1961 - 13.12.2024
