Dearly loved Husband to Bev. Loving Father and Father-in-law to Tony and  Anne, Andrew and Geoff, Katrina and Owen, Heidi and Frank. Cherished Pop to Patrick, Claire, Olivia, Jordon, Bowen, Zayn and Evie. Much loved Brother to Margaret.

Peter was a member of the RSL since 1986 and in 1987 joined The City of Wollongong RSL sub-Branch.  Peter joined the Committee soon after and became President of The City of Wollongong RSL sub-Branch in 1997 serving in that position for 23 years until February 2020. 

Aside from his RSL responsibilities, Mr Poulton was also a leader in the Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Committee in 1986-87 and for that work was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia.  In that role he coordinated the Welcome Home Parade and convinced the then Prime Minister, Bob Hawke of the need to establish the Australian Vietnam Forces National Memorial on ANZAC Parade in Canberra.

Peter was made a Life Member of the RSL in 2003 and was awarded the RSL Meritorious Service Medal in 2019.

Peter served his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the Australian Civil Affairs Unit in 1969/1970, assisting countless veterans during his decades of service and was a good mate to many.  Peter also served as a policeman with the NSW Police Force both before and after his military service.

Peter passed away on the 23rd June 2021 and will be sadly missed by his extended family and his many friends.
